How fees, sessions and notice periods work at Tiny Tots. If anything here is unclear, please just ask — we're always happy to talk it through.
Fees & payment
Fees are paid monthly in advance. You are not charged for bank holidays or for the week we are closed for Christmas. Fees are calculated on a 51-week year, divided into 12 equal monthly instalments (excluding any bank holidays that fall on a day your child normally attends). Payment can be made by electronic bank transfer, debit/credit card, DDM, childcare vouchers and tax-free childcare accounts.
Changes to rates
The daily rates agreed at the time of registration are subject to change. Although the nursery will try to avoid doing so, it retains the right to increase rates to cover increases in its costs. If you registered with a price-freeze guarantee (not available to new customers) this extends for as long as your sessions are unchanged; if you require different or additional sessions, prices will be charged at the current rates at the time for those sessions, if they are available.
Funded hours & extras
For funded hours, to qualify for all the extras we offer in addition to the funded hours of childcare it costs £1.50 per funded hour. This covers all foods, consumables (nappies, wipes, sun cream etc.), external session providers (tennis, sports, drama, dance etc.), trips out (bus trips, zoo, theatre trips etc.) and parent workshops (behaviour management, supporting your child's early reading, raising boys). Formula milk is only provided for children up to 12 months; parents wishing for their children to have formula milk past 12 months must provide it for use at the nursery.
Registration fee
A registration fee of £75.00 is required to secure a place — this is non-refundable. Registration fees for additional siblings are £37.50. Fee exemptions apply for children doing only funded hours.
Notice period
One month's written notice, or one month's fee in lieu, is required to reduce attendance or terminate the contract. Fees are still payable if a child is absent from their sessions due to illness or holiday.
Late payment
Fees are due on the 1st of the month. If paid late, a fee of £10 + 5% of the balance may be applied.
Closures
The nursery is closed for a week at Christmas and for bank holidays — fees are not charged for these days.
Drop-off & collection
Children can be dropped off any time after the start of the session and picked up any time before the end of the session. Where parents are unavoidably detained for pick-up, additional fees may be charged if additional staffing costs are incurred, at £10 for the first minute late and £1 per minute for every subsequent minute.
Extra sessions
Extra one-off sessions can be booked in addition to normal sessions. The cost of these will normally be added to the next monthly bill, although payment can also be made in advance if preferred. Although the nursery will try to accommodate requests for one-off or permanent extra sessions, it will not always be possible to agree due to space and staff-to-child ratio restrictions.

The nursery follows a substantial number of policies that explain how it operates. These are available on our website (currently the website only lists policies updated since the management takeover in August 2018; additional policies will be added as they are updated). Copies of other policies not listed on the website can be provided on request.
